There is a special tranquility and feeling of peace often noticed by people staying in these old buildings. This we cannot explain, although Sue has an idea of what is involved here.
In winter, there is a good chance Sue has a pot of soup on the stove, and if ordered the day before, Sue can rustle up a batch of 10 big scones for $20.00, date or cheese, or some home made breads for $7.00 a loaf, white and cheesy or brown and grainy.
THE STABLES
The Stables has two bedrooms with a double and a queen bed respectively as well as a full kitchen and bathroom.
The double bedroom also acts as the dinning room, which probably sounds quite odd but, believe it or not, it works very well and is quite delicious.
The Queen bedroom is also the lounge, which too works extremely well. The lounge has a cosy log burner for the winter months and is always up and running well before our people arrive. There are also two cosy sofas.
Our complimentary breakfast consists of very good quality products, including fruit, muesli, yoghurt, fruit juice, Ploughman's bread, spreads and fresh home-layed eggs when there are plenty available.
We have a very nice bathroom with a shower. There is a heater and plenty of good quality towels. There is also a new front loading washing machine.
The kitchen should you wish to cook has it all, but should you need that something else I'm sure we could produce it for you. We also have a barbecue and a nice out-doors area. Failing that you may go out too dine at our very good 'Blacks Hotel' or the 'Omakau Commercial' two kilometers up the lane.
If you wish to book "The Stables", the tariff is $120 for two folk. If you have friends coming along with you to stay, the extra cost is $40 each. So for four folk $200, and if you have more folk still, then the overflow goes to "The Bakery" still at $40 extra each person.
THE BAKERY
The Bakery has 1 Queen and 1 single bed. The bathroom facilities for "The Bakery" are just up the garden path.
As for The Stables, a very good quality continental breakfast is included.
Should you wish to rent just "The Bakery", it is $50 for one and $45 thereafter.

Incidentally, once one group has booked, then the cottage is completely theirs whether it be two or six. It is not shared with anyone else.
