Welcome to The Old bakery B&B

Delightful accommodation in historic Ophir.

"The chance of a life time"

This unique B&B is for sale plus beautiful garden
and Sue and Blair's well loved comfortable home.

"This is just as I imagined Mole’s house in Wind in the Willows," said one guest. Another confessed she felt like Goldilocks and fully expected the three bears to burst through the door at any moment. Sue and Blair Duncan are not at all surprised when guests say how much The Old Bakery Homestay reminds them of cottages lived in by their favourite fairytale characters. It’s all part of the magic they have woven into transforming the ruins of Ophir’s 1880’s bakery and next-door stables into self-contained accommodation for seven.

Stack stonewalls provide footholds for climbing roses while indoors the walls are hand rendered plaster. No finishing touch has been overlooked. For those doing the Rail Trail the Old Bakery Homestay really is the opportunity for something more than just a night’s accommodation. "A romantic interlude perhaps," suggests Sue with a knowing twinkle in her eye. "We will make every effort to ensure your stay in Ophir is an enjoyable one."

The former stables accommodate four in two sumptuous queen size beds and has full kitchen and modern bathroom facilities. The old bakery building has a queen size and single bed.

A continental breakfast with local produce and homemade jams is Sue & Blair Duncancomplimentary.
